Hall Of Famers Hosting A Wisconsin Ultra-Light Fishing Tournament!?!

 

Ever wanted to go on an Ultra-Light Fishing adventure, accompanied by your favorite NFL legends? The NFL is now offering that opportunity! Ultra-Light fishing has continued to explode in popularity and it is no surprise that the NFL is jumping on board this fishing season! Door County, Wisconsin, home to some of the Great Lakes premier Salmon fishing, is scheduled to hold the first ever NFL players Ultra-Light fishing tournament, later this month!

More than twenty, retired Green Bay Packers, will be in attendance this month for an annual Ultra-Light fishing event sponsored by past NFL gridiron legends in Door County, Wisconsin. Lynn Dickey, Jerry Kramer, Paul Coffman, Frank Winters, Greg Koch, David Whitehurst, Jim Flanigan Jr., Doug Hart and Zeke Bratkowski, will be in attendance (all representing the Green Bay Packers) when the 1st annual NFL legends, Ultra-Light fishing contest, kicks off later this month.

About 20 former Green Bay Packers players and coaches are expected to participate in the first annual NFL Alumni Celebrity Fishing Tournament altogether.

On top of that, for fans who want to participate, anyone is welcome and players will be readily available to sign autographs during the dinner banquets.

The Wisconsin Ultra Light Fishing tournament is limited to 50 boats sadly however, there will be an additional 10 celebrity boats. Seats on four celebrity boats are still available at a cost of $3,000 per foursome. Entry fee for individual boats is $750.

Nevertheless the NFL hopes to really give true Ultra-Light sportsmen, an opportunity to get what they came for, football talk and great Ultra-Light fishing, with a bundle of prizes at stake!

“People can spend some time with the NFL alumni guys, coaches and celebrities. They’ll find them extremely approachable and hospitable,” said Peter Sarkis, the events founder and organizer. “It will be a fun day on the water, with a few meals and a few laughs afterward.”

On top of the environment contestants will be able to fish for Great Lakes; bass, walleye and salmon, some of Wisconsin’s strongest catches!

“It’s more of an outing than a tournament,” said Sarkis. “But we’re going to give away some nice prizes in fishing merchandise, including a 15-horse Evinrude motor.”

All proceeds from the Ultra-Light fishing contest will be split between Door County Charities, a foundation that was created in 1999 to help support nonprofit children’s and women’s organizations, and the Green Bay Chapter of NFL Alumni.
